Second Grade Integrated Literacy and Math Website
Hello!
My name is Miss Lee and I am your child's second grade teacher. I am excited to meet each and every one my students and excited for the new school year with them! Throughout the year, I will be integrating math and literacy together in our classroom. This website will demonstrate how our second grade class will incorporate the two subjects together. This website also provides you with the materials that are given in class.
This website is geared to the topic of place values. This website includes vocabulary and children's literature both related to place value; showing that literacy can be integrated in math. On the left side, there are links to different pages. There are useful resources found on this website that will be beneficial for your child to do at home. I have included activities, games, websites, and apps that your children can practice with. Reviewing materials at home is always beneficial. I have included one of my lesson plans that will be taught to cover place values. I have also included an all about me page (linked in the home page), briefly introducing myself.
Second graders, I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. This website will demonstrate how literacy can be integrated in math. I have many fun activities planned for our place value unit. I have listed our vocabulary list (with corresponding visuals), recommended books to read, word problems (with self-check answers), activities that can be done at home, a list of fun games, websites, and apps, and a place value lesson plan I will be teaching you. I am so excited for this upcoming year and for all the fun activities that I have planned for us! Please feel free to contact me in the comment box (in the all about Miss Lee page linked in the home page) for any questions or comments you have for me.
